The Wanderers Theatre

The Wanderers Theatre is a new independent theatre company founded by a group of diverse young artists united by their passion for creating unique and innovative work. The Wanderers Theatre values inclusivity, opportunity and reinvention. They aim to create exciting theatre that challenges traditions, as well as provide opportunities for emerging artists.

Abigail Fritsch

Abigail Fritsch is a performing artist who is passionate about story telling. Having graduated with her Bachelor of Performing Arts from Federation University Arts Academy, Abigail has trained as an actor, singer, and dancer. Since graduating she has worked as a performer with Kryal Castle as well as touring a production of Love’s Labour’s Lost with the Australian Shakespeare Company. She is excited to continue working with new up-and-coming artists to bring tantalising theatrical productions to the local community.

Zephya Amelie

Raised on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Zephya is an authentic and energetic creative with a particular love for Shakespeare and Australian Theatre. She trained at Federation University's Arts Academy in Ballarat, which instilled in her a strong desire to make professional-level theatre more accessible to regional communities. During her time at the Arts Academy, Zephya has performed in Shakespeare’s As You Like It (Celia) and Cymbeline: A Romance (Innogen), as well as Cyprinidae Short Stories by Anton Chekhov and After Joan. Along with her studies, Zephya is a performer at Kryal Castle, where she adores playing various princesses, pirates and thieves

Flynn Davis

Flynn Davis is a queer creative learning and playing on Wadawurrung Land. Growing up in the countryside of Gippsland, they’re excited to give back to the community by using this platform. They have a passion for performing and creating and is a proud member of the queer fairytale troupe “The Story Keepers”. Flynn is excited for the many, many stories they get to tell whilst playing and learning along the way and they’re very excited to share with the community their art.

Caitlin McCallig

Caitlin is an intelligent and bold performer with a love for the creative arts, whether performing or visual. In 2022, she was a Resident Artist with Be You’s Broadway Unplugged. Recently, she appeared in Cymbeline: a Romance (Arviragus), The Spirit Level (Matron 2),  A Girls Guide to World War (Mrs Harley) and devised songs in After Joan at Federation University. She is on the performance team at Kryal Castle, performing children’s pantomimes and interactive night shows. Her passion for Australian work drives her to develop her own writing in her spare time. She has a keen eye for costuming and The Wanderers Theatre’s debut show A Midsummer Night’s Dream marks the first production she has costume designed for as well as performed in. She can’t wait to see where this lovely, passionate company will go!

Jack Smith

Jack Smith has been an active performer in Melbourne and regional Victorian theatre for over a decade, specialising in Shakespearean and musical theatre. Most recently, Jack has performed in multiple original Melbourne Fringe Festival musicals, and toured internationally a production of Love’s Labour’s Lost with the Australian Shakespeare Company. He is also a proud member of the Kryal Castle performance team in Ballarat. Jack is enthusiastic about collaborating with other performing/creative artists to stage entertaining and relevant productions for modern and local audiences.

The Wanderers Theatre would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the many lands on which our projects are created, the Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung People. We acknowledge the rich history of story-telling and performance that has existed on these lands for at least 60,000 years. We pay our respects to the Elders of these communities, past, present and emerging.
